Rachel Walker is the Paine College Athlete of the Week as well as the SIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its first volleyball players of the week for the 2013 season on Sept. 10. The SIAC Sports Information Directors Association voted on the three awards and named Rachel Walker as the Defensive Player of the Week.
 
The sophomore racked up 56 digs in five games playing libero for the Lady Lions as they competed in the Battle at the Springs Tournament last weekend in Franklin Springs, Ga. Walker led the team in digs for all five games against Milligan, Coker, Emmanuel, Point and Northwood. The Hooks, Texas native collected 10 digs against Milligan, 15 versus Point, 8 versus Coker, 10 against Emmanuel and 13 against Northwood.
