AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College softball team split a pair of games, falling to Lane 6-0 before besting Florida Memorial 5-1.
The Lady Lions are now 4-9 on the season.
In the loss to Lane,
Leidy Garcia,
Jakiyra Lemmon and
Emmy Segura each had a hit in the contest. Garcia registered the team's lone stolen base of the contest.
In the nightcap, Garcia and
Leticia Y. Omori each garnered two hits.
Brionna King tallied two RBI while Garcia crossed home twice.
Omori accounted for a double and it was the team's lone extra-base hit of the game.
Kamari Blackmon and
Ka'niyah Robertson each tallied a hit.
Omori, King and Katherine Seguilio each scored in the 5-1 win.
In the circle,
Montana Cagle tossed a complete game. She gave up one run on 11 hits. Cagle struck out three batters and did not allow a walk.
The Lady Lions return to action Saturday when they host Claflin in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
