Dan Venema is in his first year as the head golf coach at Paine College.

A native of Ormond Beach, Fla., Venema previously coached at Bethune-Cookman for six years. Additionally, he worked for the New York Giants (NFL) in 2014 in player development.

As a student-athlete, Venema helped his team to the 2008 National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship in 2008. Throughout his career, he finished in the top five 20 times as an individual.

Venema won the 2009 FAMU Invitational and the Charleston Southern Spring Kick Off Golf Tournament that same season. He won back-to-back individual tournaments during his senior campaign.

A member of the MEAC 50th Anniversary All-Time Men’s Golf Team, Venema is one of 13 to be placed on the all-time Men’s Golf Team at Bethune-Cookman.

He finished second individually at the 2007 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship (71, 70, 71). During his playing career, Venema picked up the Coaches Award twice (2007, 2009).

Venema has an undergraduate degree from Bethune-Cookman. He holds an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
