MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (Women's Volleyball) – Though the Paine College Lady Lions battled for the entire match with Brewton Parker College, the team was not able to pull out the deciding set. The Lady Lions fell to the Lady Barons, 3-2 with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-20 and 6-15.
With the loss, Paine drops to 10-9, overall.
Brewton Parker was led by Naomi Posada with nine kills and Charmaine Kyler with eight. Khadidja Fofana led the team in assists with 17 and she was followed by Veronica Salas with 14. Defensively, the Lady Barons were led by Tasha Taylor with 29 digs and Kristen Fluery with 16. Autumn Beasley was big up from for the team with two solo blocks.
As a team, Brewton Parker finished the match with 101 digs, 48 kills, 43 assists and six team blocks.
Caprice Lockett led the way for Paine with 10 kills.

Lydia Elmore and
Malachia Kendrick each accounted for seven kills.
Totyanna Corbitt kept the table set for the Lady Lions with 19 assists. She was followed by Lewis with 15 assists of her own. Paine's defense was led by Lewis with 24 digs and Lockett with 21. Kendrick kept the front row in the game with three solo blocks and three block assists.
Collectively, the Lady Lions finished the match with 100 digs, 44 kills, 38 assists and seven team blocks.
Paine returns home to the HEAL Complex in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match up against Claflin University at 7 p.m.
