AUGUSTA, Ga. (Women's Volleyball) – The Paine College Lady Lions women's volleyball team faced off against Fort Valley State University on Monday night in the HEAL Complex. The Lady Lions made quick work of the Lady Wildcats in three sets. The set scores were 25-12, 25-18, and 25-14.
Paine improves to 12-13, overall, and 6-8 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. With the loss, Fort Valley drops to 4-14, overall, and 1-14 in league play.
Maya Stewart led the way for the Lady Wildcats with 14 kills. Challace Denson kept the table set for her with 18 assists. The Fort Valley defense was led by Stewart with six digs.
Collectively, the Lady Wildcats ended the match with 23 kills, 21 assists, 27 digs, one service ace, and four total team blocks.
Paine was led by 
Tiera Daugherty and 
Caprice Lockett with eight kills each. They were followed by 
Kayla Lewis and 
Lydia Elmore with four kills apiece. Lewis was also the assist leader with 21 for match. Defensively, the Lady Lions were led by 
Kayla Josey with nine digs and Lockett with eight. Daugherty recorded one solo block.
As a team, Paine finished the match with 31 kills, 26 assists, 34 digs, seven service aces, and seven total team blocks.
The Lady Lions will be on the road tomorrow as they travel to face Albany State University at 6 p.m.
