AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Paine College men's basketball team dropped thier SIAC opener to LeMoyne-Owen, 65-57, on Saturday afternoon at the HEAL Complex.
PC falls to 0-3, 0-1 SIAC while LOC improves to 1-2, 1-0 SIAC on the season.
Junior transfer
Keyon Faulkner-Smith led the Lions with a team-high 14 points while guard
Charles Fairchild chipped in with 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks. Senior guard
Charles Moore was the only other Lions player in double-figures with 10 points.
The Magicians were led by Devin Booker who had a game-high 17 points. Jaquan Lawrence and Jordan Booker each had 11 points.
Team Stats
- Paine connected on just 21-of-52 (40.4 percent) from the field, while LeMoyne Owen hit 24-of 51 (47.1 percent)
- The Lions had a season best only eight turnovers while forcing 14 Magician turnovers.
- Both teams shot extremely well from the charity stripe as PC connected on 12-of-13 and LOC 11-of-13
- Paine was out-rebounded 37-23 including 11-5 on the offensive glass
- LeMoyne Owen had a 15-6 advantage on 2nd chance points.

- Faulkner-Smith had 10 points in the half
- The Lions defense forced five Magician turnovers
- LeMoyne-Owen played a clean half only commiting five fouls
- LOC held a 33-26 advantage at the half
Second Half
- USCA outscored PC in the second half 45-37
- Charles Fairchild led the Lions in the half with 13 points while shooting 6-of-8 from the field
- LOC had their largest lead of the game, 53-39, with 11:18 remaining in the game
- The Magicians outscored the Lions 32-31 in the half
The Lions return to action on Monday, December 2 as they host the Golden Bears of Miles College. The contest will tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
