FRANKFORT, Ky. -  The Paine College Lady Lions overcame a 19 point second-half deficit to defeat Kentucky State on Saturday afternoon in the Frankfort, Kentucky.

PC improves to 4-5 overall and remain undefeated in the SIAC with a 3-0 record while KSU falls to 4-5, 1-1 SIAC.

Paine was led by junior forward Keondra Archie (Eastover, S.C.) who finished with a game-high 19 points and five rebounds while junior guard Briona Andrews (Hampton, GA) had 10 points and three rebounds.

The Thorobreds were led by Erica Jones who had a team-high 13 points and five rebounds

• Paine connected on 22-of-52 (42.3 percent) from the field, while the Kentucky Statea hit 23-of-54 (42.6 percent).
• PC sank 5-of-20 from behind the arc, while KSU made 5-of-13 from three point range
• The Lady Lions bench was outscored 25-22
• Paine was out-rebounded 39-28

First Half

• Archie scored 11 points to lead the Lady Lions
• PC scored a season-low three points in the 2nd quarter
• The Lady Lion did not connect on a single free-throw in the half
• Paine went into the locker rooms down 34-21

Second Half

• The Lady Lions outscored the Thorobreds 41-21 in the half
• Paine went on a 25-4 run to end the 3rd quarter
• PC scored 14 of the final 18 points for the comeback victory
• Archie and Tania Ward each scored eight points in the half
• The Lady Lion took the lead for good with :53 seconds remaining on two free-throws by Desiree Tyner who made her first appearance of the season

The Lady Lions return to action this Monday, December 16, as they continue their road trip in Wilberforce, Ohio when they take on Central State University. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.
