FRANKFORT, Ky. -  The Paine College men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season with an 80-77 victory over Lane College on Thursday evening in the HEAL Complex.

PC improves to 1-9, 1-4 SIAC while LC drops to 6-6, 3-4 SIAC on the year.

Sophomore forward Keon Willliams (Valdosta, GA) led the Lions with a team-high 18 points and six boards, while Charles Fairchild (Stone Mountain, GA) had 10 points, six assist and four rebounds in the win.

The Dragons were led by Daniel Hill who had a game-high 28 points in the loss.

• Paine connected on a season-high 30-of-52 (57.7 percent) from the field, while Lane hit 27-of-69 shooting just (39.1 percent)
• The Lions forced 21 turnovers which they converted to 14 points
• PC's bench outscored LC's bench 28-14
• Paine struggled on the offensive glass as Lane held a 17-5 edge on second chance points
• The Lions dominated in the post holding a 46-26 advantage on points in the paint

First Half

• Williams led Paine with 11 points in the half
• The Lions defense forced 14 Dragon turnovers
• Lane led by 12 with 13:04 left in the half
• PC got 20 bench points in the half
• Paine built a 46-40 lead at the half

Second Half

• LC outscored PC in the second half 37-34
• PC had their largest lead at 14 with 15:30 remaining in the half
• Paine held Lane scoreless for the final 2:06 after the Dragons tied the game at 77-77
• Williams and San Marteen Rozier each scored seven points in the half to lead the Lions
• PC shot 52.2 percent in the half making 12-of-23 shots from the field

The Lions take a break for the Christmas holiday and return to action in the new year as they take on western division foe the Badgers of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, January 4th. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. CT
