Paine College Shines At First Two Tournaments
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College women's golf team has been outstanding through the first two tournaments of the season.
The Lady Lions won the Jefferson State CC Tournament and posted a second-place finish at the event hosted by Point University.
At Jefferson State,
Taya Buxton and
Ashley Michel each turned in terrific performances. The duo each shot 153. Buxton posted scores of 76-77 while Michel had the low round of the tournament for Paine College with her 75. She tallied a 78 for the second round of action.
Helena Rios garnered a 73-82 for a total of 155.
Pamela Cabrera notched a 168 for the two rounds of action.Â
At Point University, Buxton registered an 83-73, 156, to lead the way. Rios totaled a 161 after shooting 78-83.
Cabrera accounted for an 85-80, 165 while Michel tallied an 87-80, 167, for the 36 holes of play.
