The Lady Lions had quite the successful 2023-2024 season winning 5 out of 10 events, tying for second place in the Conference National Championship, and winning the Division II Women in Golf National Championship. The team was also presented with the Lion Leadership Award for outstanding work in the classroom, on the golf course, and for volunteering in the CSRA community.
Returning this season is Coach Andre Lacey who has taken over as Head Coach. The following players are returning this Fall as well:
- Ashley Michel
- Secured victories in two individual tournaments in 2023-2024 season
- Earned the prestigious All-American award in the NCCAA Conference
- Pamela Cabrera
- Lowered her scoring average by nearly 10 strokes last season
- Achieved a remarkable 4.0 GPA
- Helana Rios
- Earned All-American honors in the NCCAA
- Shot her lowest round ever in the 2024 spring semester
Jada Mullinax joins the team for the 2024-2025 season, along with new Assistant Coach, Rashad Wilson, PGA, and the Lady Lions are already on their way to the NCCAA National Championship in Palm Coast, FL from October 19 – 23! The Men's Golf Team has also qualified for the Championship, making it the first time in history that Paine College has had both golf teams competing for a National Championship!
Looking ahead to the Spring, the Paine College Golf Fundraising Tournament is set for March 17, 2025 at The River Golf Club in North Augusta, SC. The main goal of the fundraiser is to establish a Golf Room on Paine's campus where student athletes and members of the community can come together to learn and grow the game of golf.
