In their season opener, the Paine college women's basketball team traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to take on Columbia College. The game got off to a slow start for the Lady Lions, with the Kangaroos gaining an early advantage in the first two minutes of the match. The Lady Lions were led by the impressive performance of sophomore Kyra McCrary, who scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, showcasing her skills on the court.
 
Despite their best efforts, the Lady Lions couldn't secure a victory and suffered a tough loss on the road against Columbia College. The game provided valuable experience for the team as they look to regroup and prepare for their upcoming game on November 11. In their next matchup, they will once again be on the road in Columbia, South Carolina, this time facing off against Allen University. This season opener served as a challenging test for the team and a learning opportunity as they strive for success in the games to come.
