COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Paine College women's basketball team lost a 77-50 game at Allen Wednesday evening.

The Lady Lions are 5-17 on the season.

Head coach Kisha Lucette's team was led by Adewunmi Atiba, Carlysha Golatt and Kyra McCrary as all three netted eight points in the loss. Atiba and McCrary each pulled down six boards.

Jada Mullinex added seven points while Alexandria Caples had six points, four boards and four assists. Jada Brooks added five points and Ashley Rubio registered a team-best seven rebounds to go along with three steals.

Trailing 7-3, McCrary hit a lay-up at the 4:57 mark. Atiba's jumper knotted the game at 7-7 before McCrary's lay-up gave the Lady Lions a two-point edge. With 1:08 to go in the quarter, McCrary hit a free throw for a 10-9 advantage.

Allen outscored the visitors in the second and third quarters but Lucette's team returned the favor, posting a 17-7 advantage in the scoring column in the final 10 minutes of play.

During the fourth quarter, Lucette's team netted the final 12 points of the game. During the spurt, Brooks found Mullinex for a three-point bucket. Caples found Rubio for a three-ball at the 3:17 mark. Caples got into the action with a pair of free throws a minute later.

Rubio hit Atiba for a jumper before Golatt found Caples for the final bucket of the contest.

For the game, the Lady Lions hit 18-of-65 from the floor. The team converted miscues into 14 points and tallied 24 points in the paint.
