AUGUSTA, Ga.
 – The Paine College men's basketball team posted a 68-62 victory over Voorhees Monday evening.

The Lions are now 6-11 on the season.

The Lions were led by Quinnton Jackson's 14-point effort. He added four assists and three steals. Ivan Lawson totaled 13 rebounds and 12 points while Kole Taylor notched 11 points and five boards. Calvin Johnson chipped in 10 points in the win.

Elijah Greer-Dawson added nine points and six rebounds.

PC took a 6-0 lead after a thunderous dunk from Eliot Harrison just 1:59 into the game. The squad pushed the lead to seven moments later on a free throw by Harrison.

Tied at 12-12, Calvin Johnson hit a lay-up off a pass from Harrison with 13:34 to play. Elijah Greer-Dawson's field goal extended the margin to four, 16-12.

The back-and-forth affair saw the Lions trails 20-19 but Ivan Lawson hit two free throws to go up one. With 7:34 to go, Quinnton Jackson made two charity tosses for a three-point margin. Down 26-25, Harrison tipped in a pair of misses for a 29-26 lead. Jackson found Amarie Kirby for a lob with 4:17 to go for a 31-26 advantage. The visitors managed to lead 36-35 but Lawson hit a free throw with one second on the clock to knot the score at the break.  

Tied at 43-43, Greer-Dawson nailed a shot in the lane. Moments later, Johnson converted a lay-up off a pass from Jackson to go up seven. Greer-Dawson's shot extended the advantage to nine with 11:24 to go.

Leading by three, 58-55, Kole Taylor nailed a three-ball with 6:27 to go. At the 4:25 mark, Johnson converted another lay-up for a nine-point margin.

Voorhees slowly whittled into the deficit, cutting it to three, 65-62, with 1:08 to play. Jackson converted an old-fashioned three-point play with mere seconds remaining, securing the six-point victory.  

For the game, Paine hit 24-of-58 from the floor and made 17-of-25 from the foul line. The team registered 14 points off turnovers in the game.

The Lions return to action Wednesday when they host Fort Lauderdale at 7 p.m.
