AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to Johnson & Wales Charlotte Thursday evening.
The Lady Lions are now 0-2 on the season while JWU is 3-5.
Set scores were 16-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-27.
PC recorded 49 kills, had six aces and five blocks. The squad also totaled 38 assists to go along with a match-best 53 digs.
Head coach
Kisha Lucette's team was led by
Soleil Johnson's team-high 12 kills.
Akirah McCrae totaled nine kills while
Najla Betts and
Kennedy Williams had eight kills apiece.
Makayla Evans notched six kills while
Jamaya Allen and
Kelsey Williams notched four and two, respectively.
Kelsey Williams distributed 23 assists while
Jamia Seals had seven assists.
Behind the service line, Johnson served up two of the team's six aces.
Defensively, Johnson's 14 digs gave her a double-double. Evans accounted for 13 digs and
Demi Mckeever had 12 digs.
Kennedy Williams posted three blocks. Betts had three blocks and Johnson added two.
The Lady Lions return to action Monday when they host Claflin at 6 p.m.
