AUGUSTA, Ga. – The PC softball team lost both games of the doubleheader to Truett McConnell by scores of 5-2 and 10-1.
The Lady Lions are now 3-5 on the year.
PC opened the scoring when
Ana Cobas laid down a bunt that plated
Lena Sellam in the bottom of the first.
TMU knotted the game in the fifth inning before scoring two runs in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively.
The Lady Lions continued to battle, plating a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Allana Adams trailed home
Nakeira Mallory, but that was as close as the team could get.
Adams drove in a run while Sellam and Mallory each crossed home.
Kayla Carter threw a complete game and had two strikeouts.
Game two saw the Lady Lions score on a solo blast from Sellam in the bottom of the fifth.
Alexis Mena and
Emmy Segura had two hits apiece while Sellam recorded the team's lone run.
Difany De La Rosa got the start before Carter pitched in relief. Carter had a strikeout.
The Lady Lions return to action Feb. 22 when they host Lincoln.
