Curtis Reed is in his first year as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at Paine College.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Reed is a graduate of Shaw University.
An alumnus of Sonny Hill Summer League, Reed has coached at various community center leagues, afterschool programs and middle and high school programs throughout the Philadelphia area.
Reed provides leadership by helping student-athletes deal with challenges of everyday life, mentoring students and assisting through community support. He has made social, mental and health resources available to them, allowing them to achieve their academic and personal goals toward successful careers and responsible citizens within their communities.
He was influential with helping Rasheed Wallace and Ron Murray transition to the NBA.
