High school: Nelms attended Ridge Community HS in Davenport, Fla...earned four varsity letters in basketball...was named to 2nd Team All-County.

Personal: Nelms is the son of LaShawnee Carlisle...his cousin, Derrik Nelms, played football at Alabama A&M...chose Paine because it was the best fit for him as a player.
