Previous School: Quarles, Jr. attended East Georgia College in Swainsboro, Ga. He played basketball and averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game. His best game was against University of South Carolina-Sumter in which he scored 20 points.
High School: Quarles, Jr. attended Richmond Academy in Augusta, Ga. While at Richmond, Quarles, Jr. won five letters and played football and basketball. He helped his team reach the 4A Final Four appearance two years straight. The honors that he received were Defensive Player of the Year (2009), 1st Team All-Region (2011, 2012), Region 4 Player of the Year, and he was a McDonald’s All-American nominee. As a basketball player, he average 17 points and 12 rebounds per game. His best game in high school was during his 10th grade season when he made a three point shot in a playoff game with no time left to the team to the Final Four.
Personal: Quarles, Jr. is the son of Donald & LaJuana Quarles, Sr...chose Paine because it was in my hometown...His father, Donald, Sr. played football at Johnson C. Smith (1980). He has several relative who have participated in Paine Athletics and they are: Terin Quarles, Jarrad Quarles, Ryan Quarles, and Railand Quarles. His relative, James Quarles, Jr., played football at South Carolina State and another relative Charles Reid, Jr. played football at Morris Brown College.
