AUGUSTA, Ga. (Men's Basketball) – The Paine College Lions basketball team hosted the Stillman College Tigers on a Saturday. Paine rallied against Stillman but fell short by one point, 67-66.

With the loss, Paine drops to 4-9, overall, 1-3 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and the Tigers move to 8-4, overall, and 3-0 in league play.

The Lions were led by Arnis Libazs with a double double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Libazs was followed by Don Quarles with 13 points and five rebounds. Patrick Petty kept the table set for the Lions with six assists. Libazs made his presence known in the paint with four blocks.

Collectively, Paine finished the game with 31 rebounds, 11 assists, nine steals, and four blocks. The team was 42.1 percent from the field, 57.1 percent from the arc and 73.9 percent from the free throw line.

Ronald Singleton was the leader for Stillman with double double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and recorded two blocks. Singleton was followed by Jamon Jackson-Wilson with 10 points and eight rebounds. Antonio Petty accounted for two steals.

As a team, Stillman finished the night with 40 rebounds, six assists, six blocks and four steals. The team was 44.4 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from three point range, and 64.3 percent from the stripe.

The Lions return to action against Spring Hill College as they host the Badgers in the HEAL Complex on Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
