ALBANY, Ga. - The Paine College women's basketball team knocked off Albany State University, 68-59, Saturday afternoon in Albany, Georgia.

PC improves to (7-9, 4-4 SIAC) while the Lady Rams fall to (2-14, 2-4 SIAC)

The Lady Lions controlled most of the game with a ferocious defense that caused 29 ASU turnovers on their way to the nine point victory. After going in the locker room down 34-33, PC came out on all cylinders and outscored Albany State 21-4 in the third period and led by as many at 18 points in the 4th. 

Tierra Boykin led Paine with a game-high 20 points and five rebounds while shooting 10-of-15 from the floor. PC got the usual performance from senior leader, Janisha Wilkerson, who finished with 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for a twelfth double-double of the season. The Lady Lions also got strong performances by Chasity Huggins with 13 points and Tania Ward's 10 points. They both pulled down eight rebounds a piece. 

Paine shot 36.0(27-of-75) percent from the field while only shooting 50.0(11-of-22) percent from the charity strip. PC outscored Albany State 26-13 on points off turnovers while outscoring the Lady Rams 42-28 in the paint.

ASU was led by Kayla Green who finished with team-high 16 points and Elesha Foster finished with 10 point and 10 rebounds. Zuri Frost chipped in with nine points and 11 rebounds.

The Lady Lions return to action this Monday, January 16th as they take on the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.
