AUGUSTA, Ga. - Senior forward
Janisha Wilkerson's double-double helped lead the Lady Lions to a non-conference victory over Morris College, 78-62, Saturday afternoon in front of a homecoming crowd of 527.
With the victory Paine improves to 9-13 overall while the Lady Hornets dropped to 5-12.
After going into the locker rooms down 31-29 PC came out different intensity in the second half going up by as many as 17 points with 3:15 remaining in the ball game before taking home the 16 point victory.
Wilkerson finished with a game-high 31 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Senior guard
Kayla Lewis chipped in with 12 points while sophomore
Tierra Boykin finished with 10 points, six rebounds and 5 assist. The Lady Lions shot 51.7 (31-of-60) percent from the field and forced 23 Morris turnovers.
Diamone Johnson led MC with 22 points and eight rebounds while Ashley Jaggers had 11 points and four rebounds.
Paine returns to action this Monday, February 13 against cross-town rival Augusta University at 5:30 p.m. The game has been designated the PC Black Out.
