GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Paine College volleyball team lost a pair of matches Saturday in a tri-match hosted by Bob Jones.
Paine lost to Bob Jones and Carolina University by 3-0 scores.
The Lady Lions are now 1-12 on the season.
Against BJU, set scores were 25-9, 25-4, 25-21. Set scores against Carolina were 25-12, 25-15, 25-9.
Najla Betts led the way with four kills.
Myah Beasley accounted for four assists while
Makayla Evans notched a service ace.
Defensively,
Jordan Fortson posted eight digs and Beasley accounted for five. Both
Demi McKeever and
Micah Taylor totaled four digs apiece.
Betts and
Shacari Hardy each led the defense at the net with a pair of blocks.
In the nightcap,
Daija Broadnax and Hardy had three kills apiece. Taylor posted three assists for the squad.
Evans sliced the defense for two aces while Beasley and Mckeever each had one ace.
At the net, Betts and McCrae had two solo blocks apiece. Fortson led the back line with eight digs.
Soleil Johnson added five.
The Lady Lions return to action Thursday when they host Clark Atlanta on Thursday at 6 p.m.
