Fortson Posts A Match-High 15 Digs At Clinton College

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Paine College volleyball team lost a 3-0 match at Clinton College Thursday evening.

The Lady Lions stand at 1-10 on the season while the Golden Bears improve to 4-7.

Set scores were 25-7, 25-13, 25-20.

Akirah McCrae led the squad with five kills while hitting .211. Daija Broadnax posted a team-best .286 attack percentage to go along with three kills.  

Myah Beasley dished out nine assists while Micah Taylor chipped in three.

Defensively, Jordan Fortson led everyone with 15 digs. Makayla Evans accounted for nine in the match.

At the net, Shacari Hardy registered the team's lone solo block. Najla Betts led everyone with four block assists. McCrae chipped in three block assists and Hardy had a pair of assisted blocks.

Soleil Johnson served up the team's lone service ace.

The Lady Lions return to action Saturday when they play a tri-match at Bob Jones. After taking on the host institution at 12 p.m., Paine College squares off against Carolina University at 2 p.m.
