GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Paine College women's basketball team knocked off Bob Jones Tuesday evening 67-58.
The Lady Lions are now 2-11 on the season.
Head coach
Kisha Lucette's team was led by
Jada Brooks' team-high 17 points.
Carlysha Golatt and
Alexandria Caples tallied 15 points and 13 points, respectively.
Kyra McCrary notched a game-high nine rebounds to go along with seven points.
Ashley Rubio also tallied seven points in the win.
Deavian Pitt recorded a game-high five steals in 23 minutes of action while Brooks and McCrary each had three steals.
Paine College bolted to a 21-11 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Lions held a 29-25 lead at the break.
Bob Jones made it a 44-41 game heading into the fourth quarter, but Lucette's team outscored the home squad 23-17 over the final 10 minutes of action for the win.
For the game, Paine College forced Bob Jones into 29 turnovers. Additionally, Lucette's squad dished out 12 assists on 25 field goals.
The Lady Lions return to action Saturday when they play at Johnson & Wales at 3 p.m.
