AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College men's basketball team posted a resounding 100-63 victory over UVA-Lynchburg Saturday evening.

The Lions are now 7-13 on the season.

The Lions were led by Jakobe Williams' game-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including a spectacular seven-of-10 from downtown. Elijah Greer had 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Quinnton Jackson notched 17 points, seven assists and five steals.

Nate Adams accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds while Calvin Johnson chipped in 10 points.

Leading by 10 at the break, the Lions posted a 61-point second half. Up 41-31, Greer connected on an old-fashioned three-point play. Jackson slammed home a thunderous dunk. A steal and dunk by Johnson followed on the ensuing possession. A three-point ball from Williams off a pass from Jackson concluded the 10-0 run to make it 51-31.

Up by 21, 56-35, Williams fed Jackson for a dunk. Another steal – this time by Jackson – resulted in a dunk for Williams. Back-to-back buckets from Adams and Greer, along with a dunk from Greer, pushed the advantage to 31 at 66-35.

A Nate Adams dunk at the 10:57 mark extended the lead to 34. Up 90-59 at the 3:36 mark, the Lions continued to thrive. Johnson hit two free throws, Greer threw down another dunk and Kole Taylor made it 97-59 on a three-point shot. With 1:30 to play, Williams found Greer for a shot that allowed the home team to hit triple digits.

For the game, Paine College shot 41-of-78 from the floor, including 11-of-21 from the three-point line. The squad connected on all seven free throws it attempted.

The Lions return to action Wednesday, Feb. 15, when they host Toccoa Falls at 7:30 p.m.
