AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to Atlantis Friday by scores of 9-1 and 9-2.
The Lions are now 4-3 on the season.
Atlantis jumped on the board in the first game, scoring a run in the first and two in the second. The visitors took a 7-0 lead with four runs in the fifth before plating two more in the sixth.
Paine got on the board in the bottom of the ninth inning when 
Joshua Cruz plated the team's lone run. Crus had two of the team's hits in the game.
Raul Guerrero notched a double and scored the Lions' run. 
Alejandro Fernandez also tallied a hit in the game. 
Camillo Martinez struck out five batters while 
Vladimir Lemos had two strikeouts.
In game two, Paine trailed 3-0 before scoring two run in the bottom of the third inning.
Dominique Page and 
Jhoel Melone each had an RBI in the frame while Lemos and 
Kris Williams each crossed home plate. Williams had the team's lone extra-base hit, which went for a double. 
Denny Daza also picked up a hit in the game.
On the mound, 
Joshua Cruz had three strikeouts.
The Lions return to action Wednesday when they host Morris College in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
