MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Paine College baseball team lost an 11-5 game at Florida Memorial Saturday afternoon.
The Lions are now 8-6 on the season.
PC jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second but FMU tied it after plating two runs in the second and one in the third. The home team struck for a run in the fourth and seven in the sixth. The Lions continued to battle, scoring two in the seventh in the 11-5 contest.
Jeury Beato,
Camillo Martinez and
Jhoel Melone had two hits apiece. Martinez and Melone each drove in two.
Rayvion Alexander drove in one.
Melone, Martinez,
Denny Daza,
Joshua Cruz and
Fabio Warff all scored once.
Daza, Melone, Beato and Martinez each had doubles while Daza stole a base.
Christian Tibabijo worked 5.1 innings and had four strikeouts.
Vladimir Lemos and Warff each saw time on the mound. Warff struck out a batter in the game.
The Lions return to action Wednesday when they host Toccoa Falls at 1 p.m.
