AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College baseball team cruised to a 26-9 victory over Claflin Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions are now 12-11 on the season.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first, PC plated 10 consecutive runs over the first two innings and never looked back. The home team added a run in the third, seven in the fourth and eight in the sixth in the 17-run victory.

Dominique Page had a career day with three hits, seven RBI and three runs scored. He had a home run and a double.

Jhoel Melone tallied three hits – two of which were doubles – to go along with three RBI and three runs scored. Denny Daza totaled two hits, one RBI and crossed home four times. Alejandro Fernandez accounted for two hits and two RBI.

Raul Guerrero posted two hits, three RBI and scored three times. Jeury Beato notched two hits, one RBI and scored three times.

Camillo Martinez had two hits, two RBI and three runs scored. Joshua Cruz tallied a hit, four walks, drove in two and scored five times in the victory.

On the mound, Emmanuel Martinez worked four innings and had seven strikeouts en route to earning the victory. Christian Tibabijo accounted for three strikeouts while tossing three innings of work.

The Lions return to action Sunday when they host Voorhees in a single game starting at 12 p.m.
