DENMARK, S.C. – The Paine College baseball team picked up a pair of wins at Voorhees Sunday by scores of 14-4 and 10-2.
The Lions are now 14-11 on the season.
PC jumped on top of Voorhees in game one by taking an 8-1 lead through two innings of action. Voorhees plated three runs in the third but the Lions put up six runs in the sixth for the mercy rule.
Dominique Page led the way with three hits, four RBI and three runs scored.
Jhoel Melone tallied three hits, two RBI and scored twice.
Jeury Beato tallied three hits, three RBI and scored twice.
Denny Daza posted a pair of hits.
Overall, PC tallied nine doubles and a round-tripper.
Hunter Justice tossed five innings and struck out four while
Fabio Warff recorded an inning of work and struck out one.
In game two, PC led 2-1 going into the fourth before breaking open the contest with six runs. Leading 8-2 in the seventh, the Lions added two runs for the eight-run victory.
Joshua Cruz notched three hits. He drove in two and scored twice. Daza garnered two RBI and scored twice.
Rayvion Alexander also crossed home twice.
Emmanuel Martinez struck out eight while throwing a complete game for the win.
The Lions return to action Friday when they host Bob Jones in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
