AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to Clinton College Monday evening.
The Lady Lions are now 6-5 on the season.
Set scores were 21-25, 9-25, 25-18, 19-25.
Najla Betts led head coach
Kisha Lucette's team with 13 kills while hitting .333.
Jamaya Allen hammered home eight kills while
Akirah McCrae and
Soleil Johnson added seven kills apiece.
Kennedy Williams chipped in five kills in the loss.
Kelsey Williams dished out 16 assists and had a pair of aces while
Chelsea Brooks totaled 14 assists and an ace.
Makayla Evans totaled five assists while
Jamia Seals added four.
Chelsea Brooks, Johnson and
Kennedy Williams had an ace apiece.
Defensively,
Kennedy Williams and Seals had a solo block each. McCrae totaled two block assists.
Evans was outstanding on the back line, notching 26 digs.
Demi Mckeever accounted for 11 digs while Johnson and
Kelsey Williams had eight digs apiece.
The Lady Lions return to action Friday when they square off against Pensacola Christian (1 p.m.) and Toccoa Falls (3 p.m.).
