GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Paine College volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision at Bob Jones University Saturday afternoon.
Head coach
Kisha Lucette's team was led by Najla Bett's team-high nine kills. She registered a .250 attack percentage.
Akirah McCrae notched four kills while
Makayla Evans and
Kennedy Williams had two kills apiece.
Kelsey Williams dished out nine assists while Evans accounted for six assists.
Evans led the defense with 17 digs. McCrae garnered seven digs while
Demi Mckeever chipped in six digs in the loss.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-21, 25-7.
In the second frame, PC jumped out to a 4-0 lead. During the run, Betts slammed home a pass from
Kelsey Williams. Up 8-5,
Kelsey Williams recorded a kill prior to a block by
Kennedy Williams. Leading 11-10, Betts threw down a point.
Trailing 19-15, McCrae and Faith Blalock had kills, helping the team pull within one at 19-18. Down 23-19,
Kennedy Williams registered a kill. However, the home team managed to pull off the 25-21 win.
The Lady Lions return to action Monday when they play at Clinton College at 6 p.m.
