AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College women's basketball team lost an 81-46 decision to Columbia College Thursday evening.
The Lions are now 0-9 on the season. The Koalas stand at 13-1.
Head coach
Kisha Lucette's team was led by
Jala Morgan's team-best 17 points.
Adia Dormu accounted for a double-double with 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds. She also had six steals in the contest.
Jayla Dendy notched seven points and nine boards while
Amaria Wright chipped in six points, three rebounds and two thefts.
Da'Mar Wims and
Leia Brown had two points each. Wims pulled down seven rebounds while Brown added four.
Lucette's team scored 22 points in the paint and forced 32 turnovers, which the squad converted into 19 points.
PC recorded 25 points off the bench. The Lady Lions scored 14 points on the break. Additionally, PC pulled down 18 offensive rebounds, which led to 14 second-chance points. Collectively, the home team grabbed 49 boards.
Lucette's squad dominated the fourth stanza, outscoring Columbia College 18-12 over the final 10 minutes of play.
The Lions return to action Monday when they host Claflin at 2 p.m.
