AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College women's basketball team knocked off Fort Lauderdale 68-54 Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Lions are now 1-13 on the season.

Kisha Lucette's team was paced by
Kyra McCrary's 17-point, 13-rebound effort for a double-double. She drilled eight-of-17 from the floor and snagged six offensive rebounds.
Amaria Wright added 14 points, five boards and four steals while
Adia Dormu notched 12 points, 13 rebounds and three steals in the win.
Leia Brown and Jaylla Dendy added eight points apiece. Dendy pulled down 11 boards in 21 minutes of action.
Zakarah Powell and
Tamyria Countryman had four points apiece.
After trailing 16-5 going into the second frame, Lucette's team outscored the opposition 46-23 over the next 20 minutes of action. Trailing the entire second period, Wright took a pass from Brown for a lay-up with nine ticks left, giving the Lady Lions a 27-26 advantage at the break.
A 13-0 spurt by PC to start the third period essentially put the game away. During hte run, Dormu hit a three-ball. Wright converted a lay-up for a 32-26 lead. Wright converted six of the next eight points for the home team while McCrary scored two points as well.
For the game, PC hit 27-of-74 from the floor and made 12 foul shots. The team held a substantial 63-46 lead on the glass. The Lady Lions dished out seven assists and had eight steals in the victory.
The Lady Lions return to action Monday when they travel to Carolina University for a game starting at 6 p.m.
