AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Paine College women's basketball team defeated Toccoa Falls 74-60 Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Lions are now 2-15 on the season.
Head coach
Kisha Lucette's team was led by a balanced attack. The team placed four student-athletes in double figures.
Leia Brown led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes of work.
Adia Dormu accounted for a double-double with 14 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and six steals.
Jayla Dendy added 13 points and eight boards while
Kyra McCrary totaled 12 points and eight rebounds.
Amaria Wright chipped in nine points while
Zakarah Powell had eight markers and five steals.
For the game, PC hit 30o-f76 from the floor, including two-of-eight from the there-point stripe. The team canned 12 free throws and pulled down 52 boards. Lucette's team dished out 17 assists and had 17 steals in the win.
The Lady Lions scored 50 points in the paint and had 16 points off turnovers. PC totaled 10 second chance points and held a lead as large as 17.
The Lady Lions return to action Saturday, Feb. 8, when they host Regent at 2 p.m.
