AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lady Lions dropped at thriller Thursday evening in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play to the LeMoyne-Owen Lady Magicians, 67-64, at the HEAL Complex on the campus of Paine College.

After Paine College (5-8, 2-4 SIAC) took a 64-61 lead over LeMoyne-Owen (1-13, 1-2 SIAC) with only 13 seconds remaining in the contest, LOC's Teresa Mays connected on two three pointers, the second coming in thrilling fashion with 2.4 on the clock to seal the victory for the Lady Magicians.

Janisha Wilkerson led PC with a double-double Thursday night finishing with 24 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Zhane' Green chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort. Meanwhile Kayla Lewis added 11 points while going 7-of-8 from the charity stripe.

The Lady Lions shot 34.3 (23-of-67) percent from the floor and just 16.7 (2-of-12) percent from behind the arc. Paine also shot 84.2 (16-of-19) percent from the free throw line, while forcing 22 LeMoyne-Owen turnovers in the losing effort. 

Mays led the Lady Magicians with a game-high 28 points, while Courtney Banks added 11 points and hauled down a game-high 17 rebounds. LOC shot 53.8 (7-of-13) percent from long range.

Paine returns to action Monday afternoon as they travel to Tuskegee to take on the Tigerettes at Booker T. Washington High School. Tip is set for 12 noon.
