AUGUSTA, Ga. (Men's Basketball) – Coach
Jimmy Link and the Paine College men's basketball team went head to head with Barber-Scotia on Saturday in the HEAL Complex. The Lions came out on top to the tune of 106-72.
With the win, Paine moves to 2-3 for the season. The Sabers drop to 2-11 on the season.
Arnis Libazs led the charge for the Lions with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Libazs accumulated nine in the second half alone.
Jay West came in right behind Libazs with 19 points, while
Don Quarles was second in rebounds with nine for the night.
Raheem Newton had a team high nine assists.
Arnold Okechukwu was a force to be reckoned with in the middle with six blocks.
As a team, Paine finished the night with 54 total rebounds, 13 blocks and 25 assists.
For Barber-Scotia, ShaQuille Wilson was the point leader with 22 and led the team in rebounds with 12. Walter Jackson, III contributed 12 points to the Sabers defeat . Â Jevonta Livingston and Jonathan Allison each had two assists for the night.
Barber-Scotia, as a team, ended the game with 28 total rebounds, 11 steals, and six assists.
The Lion will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. as they face Livingstone College at home in the HEAL Complex.
