Paine Men Head to Aiken to Face the Pacers

AUGUSTA, Ga. (Men's basketball) – The Paine College men's basketball team look to bounce back from their two game loss in the Sunshine State Conference vs. Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tip Off Classic over the weekend. The two losses were at the hands of Rollins College with a score of 95-87 and Florida Institute of Technology with a score of 94-92 in overtime.

The Lions travel to Aiken, S.C. to square off against Peach Belt Conference opponent, University of South Carolina – Aiken in a midweek contest on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

The Lions most recent lost saw Denzel Dillingham continue his dominance with a 30 point performance. The game against the Panthers is his second double digit game of the season. Not to be outdone, Arnis Libazs showed why has picked for the All-SIAC team with 18 points, five rebounds, one block, and one steal. Donald Quarles hit the boards especially hard with team-high 11 rebounds.

If Paine wants to snap their early losing streak the team must find a way to subdue Jevon Patton. Patton is the leading scorer for the Pacers averaging 21.5 points per game. The Lions big men will have to contain and box out Arby Butler who is averaging 11.5 rebounds for USC-Aiken.
