Lions Open 2017-18 Season
* The Lions close out the weekend when they take on the
Eagles of Embry-Riddle University on Sat. Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. in the second game of the Daytona Mitsubishi/Kia Shootout.
Paine Storylines
* Paine College enters the 2017-18 season with 11 new players which includes nine transfers and two freshman.
* Senior Guard Malcolm Whittington was named to the SIAC Preseason All-Conference team after finishing second on the Lions averaging (13.0 ppg) whiling leading the team with (2.3 apg).Â
* PC dropped their season-opener to Palm Beach Atlantic University, 110-73. Babe Murphy led the Lions with 13 points and seven rebounds, while
Deshawndric Nelms hand 12 points and three blocks.
Scouting The Opponent
* Embry-Riddle enters the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Mississippi College, 92-73. The Eagles finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 16-10 record and is a new member of the Sunshine State Conference in 2017-18.
Next Time Out
* The Lions travel up the road to Aiken, S.C. to take on the Pacers of the University of South Carolina-Aiken on Wed. Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. USC-Aiken defeated Paine, 75-71, in Aiken, S.C. last season.
