AUGUSTA, Ga. (Men's Basketball) – Coach
Jimmy Link and the Paine College men's basketball (1-3) are in the hunt for their second win of the season as they face Barber-Scotia College (2-10). The matchup is set for Saturday at 4 p.m. in the HEAL Complex.
The Lions come into the contest off of a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Regents University Augusta, 87-78. The Sabers are riding high from victory over Bob Jones University, 86-81.
Leading the Lion pride is
Denzel Dillingham averaging 17.5 points a game.
Arnis Libazs comes in behind him with 10.7 points per game.
Raheem Newton has made his presence felt as a rebounder for Paine as he is averaging 10 boards a game.
Darius Smith has been lights out from the field with a .560 average on the season. Dillingham is second from the field with a .446 average.
Barber-Scotia is being led by Chris Calvin with 14.9 points per game while Shaquille Wilson is second with 14.4 points per game. Calvin also leads the Sabers in total rebounds averaging 6.6 a game. The Lions will need to shut down the Sabers sharp shooter, Walter Jackson, who is currently 49.5 percent from the field.
